The rules
Every board on TopSpot is public and runs the same way. There is no feed, no scoring and no editorial. The amount you pay is the spot you get — that is the whole mechanic.
How spots are decided
- Amounts are whole US dollars. $2 is the floor and the step is $1.
- Pay under the leader and you still land — at the highest spot your amount reaches.
- Matching amounts break in favour of whoever paid first; the older claim keeps the better spot.
- Send the same link again to lift that listing back to the top. It has to clear the current #1 by at least $1, and you are only charged the gap. Nobody can buy your spot by paying that gap for you.
- Store and repository links are matched on their path, so two different apps never share one spot. Tracking strings are ignored when we compare.
- A board takeover costs twice the standing #1 and freezes page one for three hours. Only one takeover runs at a time.
What can hold a spot
- Websites: a product site. Apps: an Apple App Store or Google Play page. Games: a game site or store page.
- Group and invite links are out — Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal and the rest. This board is for products, not chat rooms.
- Adult material is out. Porn, NSFW and adult platforms do not get a spot at any price.
- Query strings are stripped from every listing, so affiliate, referral and tracking URLs will not survive.
- Shortened links are resolved to their destination and listed as that instead.
Once you have paid
- Your spot is public immediately, with the clean version of your link.
- Clicks go straight to the page you submitted — no parameters bolted on.
- A cleared payment is what holds the spot. Nothing is reserved before that.
